making things beautiful

SAMSUNG CSC

“He has made everything beautiful in its time…” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Being in the business of packaging and design, I love making things beautiful. Maybe that’s why this verse keeps popping up for me. …or maybe it’s because I truly need to remember that I need to trust in His timing. in His goodness. in His promises.

Life is hard. And oftentimes, the painful, transitional moments in between are overwhelming. But with time, He will change our hearts and our perspective. and make things beautiful in time.

Remembering that when life doesn’t go the way we want it to, or when things aren’t as easy as we would like them to be, they can still be beautiful. That despite how things may feel, He is always good.

packaging

hello!! I’ve been a bit quiet on here… apologies! but I’ve been rather busy!

I’ve been working on some of my packaging for my etsy shop!

I’ve shared my stamped pouches, but since then I’ve been working on some ombre dyed effects and been having a blast with it! =)

Initially because my business cards were the peachy, blush pink tones… I had wanted them to match.

…but then, I’ve re-discovered my true love of the color BLUE. =)

and I created a set of BLUE watercolored business cards. I’m even more in love with them!

After finishing the pouches, I created a cloud stamp on my new nifty Cameo laser cutter. And stamped about 100 kraft boxes while watching the USC football game! =) *so happpyyyyy

thanks again for coming along with me! I’m learning as I go, so thanks for being patient as I get my shop ready! <3

be still

bestillPsalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”

Painting something lovely for a friend reminded me of two of my favorite words in the bible. A wonderful, comforting reminder for TWO ladies…to let go and rest in God’s sovereignty to provide strength, joy, and peace.

Joy in ALL seasons…and true faith when the unknown future seems so daunting.

The idea and act of being still and just being quiet becomes more of a challenge in this busy, crazy, hectic world. The world demands us to be busy, to be loud…while He asks us to just be still so that we can receive His guidance and His love.

a twist to your normal earrings

I absolutely love simple, clean, classic styles. But when you add a little twist to something simple, clean, and classic…… I love it even more! (that last bit was said in an Olaf” voice =P)

These rose gold pearl ear jacket earrings from Rue Gembon are so pretty!

…and because I’m such a sucker for packaging, I appreciated how they packaged everything with care with velvet pouches, gold stickers, and a handwritten note. =)

Fresh off the press!

Finally, whoohoooo!! After visualizing in my head for so long how I’d want my business cards to look like, I’m so happy with how they turned out!

First I calligraphed a billion times on scratch paper before moving to nicer bristol paper (hey! bristol pads are pricey haha).photo-13

Then after choosing the best one, I digitized the design and plates were created.

After letterpressing, I wanted to add some soft watercolor washes to each card. I loved the idea of each one being different and handpainted with care.

(Those blush/coral/pinky-orange colors just make my heart swell haha)

…AND VOILA!! My new business cards for A Cloud in the Sky! I’m not sure what I love more… the light and airy quality of the washes, or the HAPPY discovery that my rose macarons matched my cards haha! =)

…more to come! I’m working on getting that Etsy shop up and running!
